Is the use of birth control wrong?

Unfortunately, nowhere in Scripture do we find a clear and definite statement either allowing or forbidding this practice. Therefore, the decision of whether to use birth control comes down to personal conscience. Many people feel that the Lord has showed them that the use of birth control is wrong, so for those people it is. Other people say that they will use the good sense that God gave them until He says otherwise. This is not an issue about which you should become dogmatic or judgmental. The important distinction is to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and do what He leads you to do.

If you do choose to use contraceptives, it is imperative that you ask your physician how they work. You will want to choose a form of birth control that doesn’t allow the egg to be fertilized at all rather than birth control that aborts fertilized eggs. In that case, you would be treading on clearly immoral grounds. Avoid that hazard by asking a few questions.
